Dana Petroleum restarts Triton FPSO

June 30, 2025
Production will start shortly and ramp up as each field tied back to the Triton FPSO is brought back onstream.

Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd. completed repairs on the Triton FPSO and production is expected to begin soon and ramp up as each North Sea field tied back to the vessel is brought back onstream, said Serica Energy plc in a June 30 release.

The FPSO was shut down for critical repairs following the aftermath of Storm Éowyn in January (OGJ Online, Mar. 19, 2025). During the shutdown, extensive repairs to the inert gas marine system were completed with over 100 components on the system either replaced or refurbished. Topside modifications were made in readiness to accept the start of production from Belinda field expected in early 2026, significant safety critical maintenance work was also undertaken on the firewater system, and valves and sections of pipework across the FPSO were replaced.

Production from the FPSO should increase from two new wells: W7z, on Guillemot North West field, and the EV02 on Evelyn field.

Stable production is expected to be achieved in July and no further planned outages for the Triton FPSO are expected this year, Serica said.

The Triton FPSO lies in Block 21/30 about 120 miles east of Aberdeen, and produces oil and gas from Bittern, Clapham, Pict, Saxon, and Guillemot area subsea infrastructure.

Dana Petroleum is operator of the Triton FPSO (52%) with joint venture partners Serica Energy Mistral Ltd. (46%) and Waldorf Production UK plc/Waldorf Petroleum Resources Ltd. (2%).
