Hindustan Oil Exploration Co. Ltd. (HOEC), Chennai, India, has let a contract to Expro for a production-handling facility and all topside processing equipment on a mobile offshore production unit on B-80 oil and gas field in the Mumbai basin.

The 7-year contract covers construction, maintenance, and operation. Equipment delivery is due in 8 months.

HOEC expects the small field to start production from the unit, a converted jack up rig, by June 2020. It is operator of a 50-50 combine with Adhboot Estates Pvt. Ltd. that acquired a revenue-sharing contract for the field in India’s first Discovered Small Fields licensing round, held in 2016 (OGJ Online, Mar. 28, 2017).

In the first development phase, HOEC plans to reenter and sidetrack two wells and to lay connections to Oil & Natural Gas Corp. pipelines. B-80 natural gas will flow to the Hazira plant at Surat, Gujarat, and oil will move to the Uran terminal near Mumbai.

Production capacities will be 5,000 b/d of oil and 15 MMscfd of gas.
