SBM Offshore has let a contract to Cameron for gas processing packages for two floating production, storage, and offloading vessels that will be used in the Lula field presalt area offshore Brazil.

SBM is building the FPSOs, the Cidade de Marica and Cidade de Saquarema, as replicas of the Cidade de Ilhabela FPSO project currently under way in Brazil where Cameron is providing gas dehydration and carbon dioxide removal packages to SBM.

The Cameron packages for the new contract will be primarily used for gas dehydration and acid gas removal before routing the gas to reinjection compressors. These packages will process about 5.7 million standard cu m/day of gas.

Cameron´s gas dehydration packages are molecular sieve-based units that dehydrate natural gas streams to extremely low levels and can process gas to much lower dew points than glycol dehydration systems. They are designed to be effective over a wide range of operating conditions and are fully automated for ease of operation and maintenance.
