Sasol Petroleum International has let an engineering, procurement, and construction management contract to a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler AG for a low-pressure compression project at its central processing facility in Temane, Mozambique (OGJ Online, May 31, 2012).

In a recent report for investors, Sasol said directors had approved expenditure of $94.6 million for booster compression to sustain production from Temane and Pande fields, both of which are onshore.

According to the US Energy Information Administration, the fields produced a combined 135 bcf of natural gas in 2011.

The Foster Wheeler unit will provide gas turbine-driven, low-pressure compressors and auxiliary equipment, a new substation, modifications to an existing substation, additional instrument air and nitrogen facilities, and expansion of the distributed control system to accommodate the new facilities.
