Zenith Energy increases production at Robbana concession, Tunisia
Zenith Energy Ltd. is producing from Robbana-1 (ROB-1) in the Robbana concession, Tunisia, following workover completion.
Robbana covers 48 sq km onshore in the island of Djerba in the southern Gulf of Gabes. ROB-1 encountered two hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs in the Cretaceous Upper Meloussi sandstone formation.
A flow rate of 124 b/d has been recorded from the well. The company expects a stabilized rate of about 100 b/d in the near-term once well production is optimized. This will represent a 500% increase in production from ROB-1 over the previous daily production rate of 20 b/d since the last workover was performed in 2012. The workover results will enable the company to increase its daily net cumulative production to about 650 b/d.
Only two wells have been drilled in Robbana since discovery: ROB-1 and ROB-2. The latter has been temporarily abandoned. Zenith is preparing to drill ROB-3.
