Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) on Sept. 27 stopped gas production from Manati gas-condensate field 10 km off Bahia, Brazil, in the Camamu basin due to a leak in the onshore portion of its export pipeline.
Teams have been mobilized for repairs and the production is expected to return by the end of the week, the operator said in a Sept. 29 release.
The causes of the incident are being investigated. There is no risk of gas supply to the market and the company is keeping relevant parties informed, it said.
Petrobras is operator of Manati field with 35% interest. Partners are Enauta Energia SA (45%), GeoPark LTDA (10%), and Petro Rio Coral Exploração Petrolífera LTDA (10%).
The field, in 35-50 m of water, in late 2020 was producing from six wells and one fixed platform, from which gas and condensate are exported through a 24-in., 126-km pipeline to Estação Geofísico Vandemir Ferreira in São Francisco do Conde/BA. Average production of the field in September was 3.1 million cu m/d.
