OGDC lets contract aimed at reviving mature field production

OGDC has contracted Baker Hughes to implement advanced solutions across over 120 wells, aiming to optimize production and recovery from Pakistan’s mature oil and gas fields through digital and technological innovations.

Pakistan's Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) has let a multi-year contract to Baker Hughes aimed at increasing production from the country's mature oil and gas fields.

Baker Hughes will evaluate redevelopment opportunities at OGDC’s Tando Alam Oil Complex and Pirkoh field in Pakistan, covering more than 120 wells. The company will assess production challenges and recommend integrated technology and digital solutions aimed at improving recovery, production performance, and economics.

Following the evaluation phase, Baker Hughes plans to implement measures including AI-enabled chemical injection systems, well workovers, and other interventions to restore output from underperforming wells and increase domestic energy production.
