Aker BP granted Barents Sea drilling permit

Aker BP ASA has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate to drill wells in the Barents Sea.

Aker BP ASA has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate for wildcat wells 7324/6-2 and 7324/8-4 in production license (PL) 1170 in the Barents Sea.

The wells will be drilled by the Scarabeo 8 semisubmersible drilling platform. Well 7324/6-2 is planned to spud in May, and well 7324/8-4 is planned to spud in June.

Aker BP is operator at PL 1170 (35%) with partners Equinor Energy AS (35%), Petoro AS (20%), and INPEX Idemitsu Norge AS (10%).
