Aker BP granted consent for North Sea wildcat

Aker BP ASA has been granted consent by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for wildcat well 2/8-19 in production license (PL) 1085 in the Overly prospect in the North Sea.

Aker BP ASA has been granted consent by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for wildcat well 2/8-19 in production license (PL) 1085 in the Overly prospect in the North Sea.

The well will be drilled by the Maersk Invincible in 69 m of water. Expected drilling duration is 16 days if it’s a dry hole or 21 extra days if there is a discovery (OGJ Online March 16, 2022).

Aker BP is operator of PL 1085 (55%) with partners DNO Norge AS (25%) and Petoro AS (20%).
