Lundin Energy Norway AS has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) to drill in North Sea production license 976.

Lundin Energy Norway AS has been granted a permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) to drill in North Sea production license 976.

Well 17/8-1—the first exploration well in the license—will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger semisubmersible drilling rig about 65 km southeast of Johan Sverdrup field. The area in the permit consists of parts of Blocks 17/4, 17/5, 17/6, 17/7, 17/8, and 17/9.

Lundin is operator with 50% interest. Partners are Repsol Norge AS (30%) and Petoro AS (20%).
