Ithaca to drill exploration well at Fotla, UK North Sea

Ithaca Oil and Gas Ltd. has let a contract to Awilco Drilling PLC for the WilPhoenix semi-submersible rig to drill a single Fotla exploration well at Block 22/1b in the UK North Sea, adjacent to Alba field.

WilPhoenix is one of Awilco Drilling’s two Enhanced Pacesetter semi-submersibles and is equipped for drilling in water depths up to 1,200 ft.

The well will commence no earlier than May 31, 2021.
