Strike Energy Ltd. expects to spud West Erregula 3 in this year’s third quarter after signing a rig contract with Ensign Energy Services to drill up to three West Erregulla wells in the onshore North Perth basin of Western Australia (OGJ Online, Apr. 28, 2020).

Mobilization of the Ensign 970 is expected to begin following completion of civil works for the drill pad construction.

West Erregulla 4 will follow shortly after with the timing dependent on the regulatory approvals process. West Erregulla 5 planning is underway with a firm commitment expected by the joint venture expected by the end of November 2020. Strike has procured contingent drilling slot on the Ensign 970 for the activity.

Upgrades to the rig to be executed by Ensign include an increase in pumping capacity to support the larger bore hole diameters for the West Erregulla appraisal campaign.

West Erregulla is within the Strike-operated EP469 license. Strike and Warrego Energy Ltd. each hold 50% interest.
