Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Ltd. has given ABB AS a contract to design, build, and commission a deepwater tension leg platform for the Kozomba A project on deepwater Block 15 off Angola. ABB will complete the work, in partnership with Heerema of Holland, by the third quarter of 2003. The TLP will be anchored in 1,250 m of water.
ATP Oil & Gas Corp. has begun production from two deepwater wells at Ladybug field on Garden Banks Block 409 in the US Gulf of Mexico. The field is expected to produce 8,000 b/d and 67 MMcfd.
Woodside Energy Ltd. said the North West Shelf Venture participants have been given production licenses for the Echo-Yodel gas-condensate field. The field is 23 km southwest of the venture's Goodwyn A production platform. Echo-Yodel has reserves of 37 million bbl of condensate and 400 bcf of gas. Startup is expected in mid-2002.
Lukoil of Russia plans to develop Kravtsovskoye (D-6) oil field, which has reserves of 8.85 million tonnes. The field, on the Russian Baltic Sea shelf, is due on stream in 2003. Work will include an ice-resistant fixed platform, land and underwater pipelines, and an onshore terminal. Capital expenditures for 2002-03 will be $118.2 million.
