BEIJING, August 7 --China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec) said a recent well "remarkably upgraded the production capacity of Jiannan gas field" in Jianghan oil field.

The field is near southwestern China's Chongqing City.

Sinopec unit Jianghan Oilfield Co. drilled Jianping-1 to 4,646 m late last month. On test July 24, Jianping-1 flowed 210,000 cu m/day of natural gas.

Sinopec said it is China's longest directional well with a parallel reach of 1,046 m.

Jianghan, in central China's Hubei province, produces 91 million cu m/year of gas and 870,000 tonnes/year of crude.
