Rowan seeks new contract for Gorilla VII

HOUSTON, June 8 -- Rowan Cos. Inc. is offering the Gorilla VII jack up for work after receiving notification that Tuscan Energy (Scotland) Ltd., operator of the Ardmore oil field development in the UK North Sea, is insolvent.

The field's production has been shut in, and abandonment and decommissioning activities are expected to be complete in 30-45 days.

The Gorilla VII began operations in Ardmore field in mid-2003.
