Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has called for Atlantica Tender Drilling Ltd. to demobilize BassDrill Beta semisubmersible from the P-61 tension-leg platform at the Papa Terra heavy oil development on the southern tip of the Campos basin, 110 km offshore Brazil.

The rig is expected to be fully demobilized and off-hire during this year’s second quarter, the service provider said.

In February 2020, the operator initiated a sale that includes full transfer of operations, all existing wells, and production facilities in Block BC-20, which includes Papa Terra field (OGJ Online, Feb. 4, 2020).

Petrobras is operator of the field with 62.5% stake. Chevron holds the remaining 37.5%.
