Equinor Energy AS plugged wildcat well 30/6-31 S in production license 053, drilled by West Hercules about 7 km southeast of Oseberg C platform in the northern North Sea, 140 km west of Bergen. The well, in 107 m of water, is dry. Data has been collected.

The objective was to prove petroleum in Middle Jurassic reservoir rocks (Intra Heather formation sandstones). Drilled to vertical and measured depths of 2,830 m and 2,852 m subsea, respectively, the well terminated in the Ness formation. It encountered poor reservoir quality with no traces of petroleum.

Equinor is operator of the license with 49.3%. Partners are ConcoPhillips Skandinavia (2.4%), Petro (33.5%), and Total E&P Norge (14.7%).

West Hercules will drill well 35/10-5 in production license 827 S in the northern North Sea where Equinor is operator.
