The independent oil and gas producer commits to replenishing or offsetting as much fresh water as its operations use.
Since 2014, the company has completed 10 water conservation projects in several states. They include stream channel and habitat restoration; waterway and floodplain improvements; wetland creation; and aquatic habitat restoration.
Most recently, it helped restore the Cheat River’s Muddy Creek watershed in West Virginia, which had been hurt by third-party acid mine drainage unrelated to Southwestern’s work.
