Sentinel submits application for oil export facility

Sentinel Midstream subsidiary Texas GulfLink submitted a license application with the US Maritime Administration May 30 to construct and operate a deepwater crude oil export facility near Freeport, Tex. The completed facility will be capable of fully loading very large crude carriers.

Sentinel Midstream LLC subsidiary Texas GulfLink LLC submitted a license application with the US Maritime Administration May 30 to construct and operate a deepwater crude oil export facility near Freeport, Tex. (OGJ Online, Feb. 12, 2019). The completed facility will be capable of fully loading very large crude carriers.

Texas GulfLink will include an onshore terminal with as much as 18 million bbl of storage, an offshore 42-in. pipeline, and a manned offshore platform 30 miles offshore. From the platform, oil will be transported to two single-point mooring buoys to allow for VLCCs to receive 2 million bbl of crude oil with loading rates up to 85,000 bbl/hr.
