Oman LNG lets contract for Sur plant

Oman LNG has let a contract to KBR to provide debottlenecking services for its 34 million-cu m/day liquefaction plant on the coast at Qalhat near Sur, in Oman’s South Sharqiyah Governorate. As part of the of the contract, KBR will provide front-end engineering design services for the debottlenecking project to increase production at the Sur plant.

Oman LNG LLC has let a contract to KBR Inc. to provide debottlenecking services for its 34 million-cu m/day liquefaction plant on the coast at Qalhat near Sur, in Oman’s South Sharqiyah Governorate.

As part of the of the contract, KBR will provide front-end engineering design services—including licenser, vendor management, and associated services—for the debottlenecking project to increase production at the Sur plant, the service provider said.

KBR will act as an extension to Oman LNG’s project team and help manage overall execution of the project, including supply management and ensuring adherence to all areas of compliance and safety.

The contract underpins Oman LNG’s robust commitment towards knowledge sharing and boosting staff competency in dealing with such complex projects, while enhancing Oman LNG’s enriched in-country value efforts, KBR said.

Neither a value of the FEED contract nor additional details regarding the project were disclosed.
