Jadestone Energy Inc., Singapore, has reported the completion of its infill drilling program in Stag oil field in the Carnarvon basin offshore Western Australia.

A completion has been run on the Stag-49H infill well drilled from the Stag wellhead platform as a horizontal oil producer with the aim of reaching unswept parts of the reservoir southwest of the platform. The Ensco 107 jack up drilling rig has moved off location and has been released.

Jadestone said the well was completed with sand screens and swell packers that will take a few days to expand and set.

The company will now conduct hook-up and commissioning activities prior to bringing the new well on stream.

Well data suggest there is no variance to the predrill expectations for the well, which is expected to produce about 1.2 million bbl of incremental (2P) oil reserves from the field.

This was the first infill well at Stag since 2013. Jadestone acquired the field in November 2016.

The original field development was via a fixed-leg, 12-slot manned central processing facility platform with a liquids production capacity of 50,000 b/d, 30,000 b/d of which was for oil.

The platform is connected to a floating storage and offloading vessel.
