Scott D. Sheffield has assumed his former role as chief executive officer of Pioneer Natural Resources Co., Dallas, succeeding Timothy L. Dove, who has retired as CEO and from his seat on the board.
Sheffield was PNR’s founding chief executive, serving from 1997-2016, and has served as chairman since 1999. Lead Director J. Kenneth Thompson has become chairman.
Dove retires from PNR after 24 years with the company. He was named president and CEO in May 2016 to succeed Sheffield who had announced plans to retire at yearend (OGJ Online, May 20, 2016).
