Cutt named QEP Resources president, CEO

Timothy Cutt has been named president and chief executive officer of QEP Resources Inc., Denver, succeeding the retiring Charles Stanley in those positions.

Timothy Cutt has been named president and chief executive officer of QEP Resources Inc., Denver, succeeding the retiring Charles Stanley in those positions.

Cutt most recently was CEO of Cobalt International Energy Inc. and earlier worked for ExxonMobil Corp. and BHP Billiton Ltd. He will be a QEP director.

Succeeding Stanley as chairman of the board is David A. Trice, an independent director.

Stanley has been president, CEO, and a director of QEP since the company’s spin-off from Questar Corp. in 2010.
