Summit Permian Transmission LLC, a subsidiary of Summit Midstream Partners LP, The Woodlands, Tex., is extending its binding open season for firm natural gas transportation capacity on the Double E Pipeline following a high level of interest from prospective shippers, the company said.

Double E will provide gas through 131 miles of pipe from the northern Delaware basin to the Waha Hub in northern Pecos County, Tex., servicing various receipt points in Eddy and Lea counties in New Mexico and Loving, Ward, Reeves, and Pecos counties in Texas. Multiple direct downstream connections will be based on shipper demand and preferences. Additional receipt laterals and extensions are being considered, the company said.

The project is expected to be placed into service in the second quarter of 2021.

The open season, originally scheduled to Sept. 14, has been extended until Sept. 28.
