Norway’s PSA gives MOL Norge nod for exploration well

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) granted permission for MOL Norge to proceed with its plan to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea targeting the Oppdal-Driva prospect.

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) granted permission for MOL Norge to proceed with its plan to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea targeting the Oppdal-Driva prospect.

Rowan Norway Ltd.’s Rowan Viking jack up rig is expected to spud well 2/6-6 S in license PL 860 during September.

The exploration well is 45 km east of Valhall and Ekofisk fields in 70 m of water. It is estimated that drilling could take 60-70 days.
