Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) granted permission for MOL Norge to proceed with its plan to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea targeting the Oppdal-Driva prospect.
Rowan Norway Ltd.’s Rowan Viking jack up rig is expected to spud well 2/6-6 S in license PL 860 during September.
The exploration well is 45 km east of Valhall and Ekofisk fields in 70 m of water. It is estimated that drilling could take 60-70 days.
