Mexico’s Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) processing subsidiary Pemex Transformacion Industrial (formerly Pemex Refinacion) is in the process of restarting operations at its 330,000-b/d Antonio Dovali Jaime refinery in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, following a power outage that led to a shutdown of the site late on Aug. 8.

The outage, which led to an electrical interruption in the refinery’s operational system, reduced loads in the process plants at the site as well as resulted in pressure releases from steam-generating boilers, Pemex said.

The incident, however, did not pose any risk to personnel, surrounding communities, or the environment.

As of late on Aug. 9, local media outlets reported the refinery was in the process of returning to full operations.
