NPD grants Mol Norge drilling permit in the North Sea

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted Mol Norge AS a drilling permit in the North Sea for well 2/6-6 S, which will be drilled by Rowan Cos.’ Rowan Viking N-class jack up drilling rig.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted Mol Norge AS a drilling permit in the North Sea for well 2/6-6 S, which will be drilled by Rowan Cos.’ Rowan Viking N-class jack up drilling rig.

The well, to be drilled about 40 km northeast of Valhall field, is the first to be drilled in production license 860.

Mol Norge is the operator with 40% interest. Partners are Lundin Norway AS 40% and Petoro AS 20%.

The area in this license consists of parts of Blocks 2/6 and 9 and part of Block 3/4.
