Colyer named interim Contango president, CEO

Wilkie S. Colyer Jr., newly appointed as a director of Contango Oil & Gas Co., Houston, also becomes interim president and chief executive officer, succeeding Allan D. Keel, who has left the company.

Wilkie S. Colyer Jr., newly appointed as a director of Contango Oil & Gas Co., Houston, also becomes interim president and chief executive officer, succeeding Allan D. Keel, who has left the company.

Colyer has been responsible for energy investments at Goff Capital, the family office of private Fort Worth investor John C. Goff, who also becomes a Contango director after acquiring 18.3% of the company’s common stock.

Joseph J. Romano, chairman of Contango, will increase his involvement in executive management and oversight.
