Chiang named Plains All American Pipeline CEO

Willie Chiang will become chief executive officer of Plains All American Pipeline LP and Plains GP Holdings when Greg Armstrong, chairman and CEO, retires on Oct. 1.

Willie Chiang will become chief executive officer of Plains All American Pipeline LP and Plains GP Holdings when Greg Armstrong, chairman and CEO, retires on Oct. 1.

Chiang, now Plains All American executive vice-president and chief operating officer, joined the company in 2015 after holding executive positions at Occidental Petroleum Corp. and ConocoPhillips Co.

Armstrong, a Plains All American cofounder who has been CEO more than 25 years, will remain nonexecutive chairman through 2019.

Among several other officer promotions, the board approved one involving operations. Jason Blevins will become vice-president, operations, southern region. He previously was senior director, southern region operations.
