Mike Reger, founder and CEO of Northern Oil and Gas Inc., Minneapolis, and Brandon Elliott, president, have agreed to realign responsibilities and swap titles.

Mike Reger, founder and CEO of Northern Oil and Gas Inc., Minneapolis, and Brandon Elliott, president, have agreed to realign responsibilities and swap titles.

Effective July 5, Reger assumed the title of president to focus on acquisition opportunities in the Williston basin. Brandon Elliott has assumed the title of CEO with responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operations and investor relations with Northern’s CFO, Nick O’Grady.

The move comes from “longstanding conversation about how to best position the company for success,” said Reger. “As a significant shareholder, I want my focus to be where I can add the most value to Northern and its shareholders, which is to allocate 100% of my time to growing acreage and production through accretive acquisitions,” he said. “Brandon will focus on day-to-day operations and investor relations – two areas in which he excels,” he said.

In June the agreed to acquire assets in the Proghorn area of the Williston basin operated by Whiting Petroleum Corp. and Continental Resources Inc. (OGJ Online, June 27, 2018). Weeks earlier, the company acquired oil production and acreage in the Williston basin from Salt Creek Oil & Gas LLC, Denver (OGJ Online, June 8, 2018).
