Pioneer Natural Resources Co. expects production to restart at diminished rates by early April from its portion of West Panhandle gas field in Texas, which it shut in Mar. 6 after a fire heavily damaged a compressor station.
The fire was contained within the station and caused no injuries.
Pioneer’s West Panhandle production averages 8,000 boe/d—20% oil, 55% NGL, and 25% natural gas.
Pioneer expects to use several idle compressors to restart production at 80-90% of prior rates.
