H.C. Kip Ferguson III has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Energy Hunter Resources Inc., Irving, Tex.
Prior to joining Energy Hunter, Ferguson served as executive vice-president of exploration at Magnum Hunter Resources Corp.
Energy Hunter, with lease acreage in the San Andres and Eagle Ford oil plays, continues its acquisition efforts, predominantly in the Permian basin. In the Eagle Ford, the company’s first new high-impact horizontal well, Gap Band No. 2H in Karnes County, Tex., went on production Jan. 1.
