Gasunie of the Netherlands and Gazprom of Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at streamlining cooperation in European natural gas markets.

The MOU calls for the companies to strengthen ties in areas such as gas transmission—especially expansion of the 1,224-km Nord Stream pipeline crossing the Baltic Sea, in which they are partners—gas processing, LNG production, and shall-scale shipping (OGJ Online, Apr. 4, 2013).
