MOBIL TEXAS REFINERY TO GROW

Mobil Corp. will modernize and expand its biggest U.S. refinery at a cost of more than $300 million. The project will boost crude oil capacity of its Beaumont, Tex., plant to 325,000 b/d from the present 285,000 b/d, substantially increase production of superunleaded gasoline and distillate fuels, and reduce sulfur and nitrogen dioxides emissions. Construction is to begin in the third quarter of this year and be complete by third quarter 1992.
