ABB to maintain, modify gas plant and platforms for Statoil

Norwegian company Statoil ASA has awarded the Swiss ABB Group a $36 million, 5-year contract for the maintenance and modification of a gas treatment plant in Norway and platforms in the North Sea.

HOUSTON, Nov. 27 -- Norwegian company Statoil AS has awarded the Swiss ABB Group a $36 million, 5-year contract for the maintenance and modification of a gas treatment plant in Norway and platforms in the North Sea.

The contract includes maintenance work, design engineering, construction and installation. The work will largely be done at Kårstø gas treatment plant, north of Stavanger, and at the Draupner platforms in the North Sea.

The contract includes the option for three 2-year extensions.

ABB has had similar contracts for Kårstø and Draupner for the past 5 years.

ABB has received several maintenance and modification contracts from Norwegian companies this year.
