ExxonMobil Corp. contractor Kent Energies Ltd. has selected EnerMech as its integrated service contract supplier for ExxonMobil’s new low sulphur diesel plant at subsidiaries Esso Petroleum Co. Ltd. (EPCL) and ExxonMobil Chemical Ltd.’s jointly operated integrated 262,000-b/sd (246,900-b/cd) refining and petrochemicals complex situated at Fawley, near Southampton, Hampshire, UK.
The project comprises construction of the new low sulphur diesel plant encompassing development of a new hydrogen plant at the integrated complex that aims to help reduce Britain’s reliance on diesel imports and pave the way for the potential production of sustainable aviation fuel, the service provider said in a release Sept. 26 (OGJ Online, Apr. 12, 2024). The project will increase the output by 38,000 b/d.
EnerMech will deliver construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up services on key components such as a diesel hydrotreater, steam methane-reforming hydrogen plant, diesel storage tank and amine treatment system. EnerMech software will be used to record data for flange management, bolt torque/tensioning, on-site machining, nitrogen purging, camera inspection, hydro-testing, and PSV management services.
