HOUSTON, Mar. 22 -- Husky Energy Inc., Calgary, reported Monday that it plans to upgrade its 10,000 b/d Prince George, BC, refinery.

The $73 million (Can.) upgrade project will increase the plant's production by 2,000 b/d and equip the facility to produce low-sulfur gasoline and diesel fuels that will meet Canada's new fuel specifications, Husky said.

Montreal, Que.-based engineering and construction firm SNC-Lavalin Inc. will provide Husky with design and construction management for this project.

The upgraded facility is expected to be on stream by second quarter 2005.
