Sasol arranges China CTL feasibility study

Sasol Synfuels International and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group hired subsidiaries of Foster Wheeler to conduct a coal-to-liquids feasibility study in China.

HOUSTON, Nov. 5 -- Sasol Synfuels International Ltd. and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group Ltd. hired subsidiaries of Foster Wheeler Ltd. to conduct a coal-to-liquids (CTL) feasibility study in China.

The study will evaluate the cost of building an 80,000 b/d CTL plant in the Ningxia Hui region of western China.

The Foster Wheeler contract value was not disclosed. Foster Wheeler's Chinese consortium partner on the contract is Wuhuan Engineering Co.
