New Fortress Energy Inc. has received authorization from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to 1.4 million tonnes/year of LNG to non-Free Trade Agreement countries from its Fast LNG 1 (FLNG 1) asset offshore Altamira, Mexico, for a term of 5 years.
In combination with the previously received Free Trade Agreement authorization granted by the DOE, the operator’s FLNG 1 asset is now able to export LNG to markets and customers worldwide, the company said in a release Sept. 3.
