CNOOC to develop third LNG terminal in China

CNOOC Ltd. reported its parent company, China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), has signed an agreement with the provincial government of Zhejiang to jointly develop China's third LNG terminal.

HOUSTON, Mar. 15 -- CNOOC Ltd. reported its parent company, China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), has signed an agreement with the provincial government of Zhejiang to jointly develop China's third LNG terminal.

Reportedly, the terminal is to be built in Zhejiang Province, although a more exact location was not disclosed.

The project is envisaged to include an LNG regasification terminal, a natural gas trunk line, and a gas-fired electric power plant. The designed capacity of LNG terminal is expected to be about 3 million tonnes/year. CNOOC is expected to take a 51% of interest in the project.
