Petronas signs deals to sell LNG in China

Petronas subsidiary Malaysia LNG has signed deals with Shanghai LNG Co. Ltd. to supply up to 3.03 million tonnes/year of LNG for 25 years.

LOS ANGELES, Oct.30 -- Petronas subsidiary Malaysia LNG has signed deals with Shanghai LNG Co. Ltd. to supply up to 3.03 million tonnes/year of LNG for 25 years.

The LNG will come from the Petronas complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, and will be delivered to Shanghai LNG's terminal under development at Zhong Ximentang Island, Shengsi, Zhejiang Province, targeted for completion by mid-2009.

Petronas called it the company's first LNG deal with China.

Shanghai LNG is a joint venture between Shenergy Group Ltd. (55%) and CNOOC Gas & Power (45%).
