Queensland pipeline link in service

MELBOURNE, Jan. 15 -- Melbourne-based Epic Energy Ltd. is sending commercial volumes of natural gas through its new Queensland pipeline link to South Australia and New South Wales.
The new line links the company's southwest Queensland pipeline to its Moomba-to-Adelaide line and the Moomba-to-Sydney line. The link extends across the Cooper Creek floodplain from Ballera to Moomba. As a result, coal seam methane production in eastern Queensland can now supply Adelaide and Sydney markets.
A long-term take-or-pay contract with AGL Energy Ltd. and Epic has sold all spare capacity until 2014.
