NGPL PLANS GAS PIPELINE IN WESTERN ARKOMA BASIN
Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America plans to lay 107 miles of 24 in. line to move gas from the Arkoma basin in eastern Oklahoma to its recently completed Amarillo-Gulf Coast interconnect (A/G line).
The Arkoma line, expected to cost $51 million, is to run west from Latimer County to Pittsburg County, Okla., then south to the A/G line in Southeast Oklahoma. NGPL, the interstate transmission unit of MidCon Corp., Lombard, Ill., hopes to begin construction of the 300 MMcfd capacity line by summer.
The company also plans to build a 4,000 hp compressor station in northern Atoka County, Okla., on the Arkoma line. NGPL will apply with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to boost the A/G line's 350 MMcfd capacity.
NGPL will transport Arkoma basin gas to markets around the U.S. through about 12,800 miles of interstate pipelines it operates plus other systems with which it connects.
