Epic Crude Holdings LP has commissioned its 30-in. OD, 730-mile crude oil pipeline and is now making crude oil deliveries from it, bringing an end to interim deliveries via the 24-in. OD Epic Y-Grade pipeline.  The crude line extends from Epic’s Permian basin Crane, Tex., terminal to the Port of Corpus Christi, Tex., with an initial capacity of 600,000 b/d. Full service is expected by Apr. 1, 2020.

The pipeline currently includes 2.3 million bbl of operational storage, to be increased to 5.4 million bbl by Apr. 1.

Remaining construction includes an additional 2.1 million bbl of storage, bringing total storage to 7.5 million bbl, and completing the terminal’s East Dock. The dock is expected to be operational second-half 2020 and will allow Epic to load Suezmax vessels. West Dock began loading operations in December 2019.

Concurrent with commissioning of the crude line, Epic has begun cleaning the Y-grade line and transitioning it back to NGL service.

The crude line services Delaware, Midland, and Eagle Ford basins, with terminals in Orla, Pecos, Saragosa, Crane, Wink, Midland, Helena, and Gardendale, Tex.
