Steve Martin

Steve W. Martin is Vice President of Operations, Ryder Dedicated, for Ryder System, Inc., a FORTUNE 500® commercial fleet management and supply chain solutions company. Mr. Martin is responsible for driving the growth and operational execution of customized transportation solutions for Ryder customers in the United States. He is also leading Ryder’s focus in the Oil & Gas Up-Stream sector with the implementation of integrated transportation solutions designed to improve safety, service, and cost.

Prior to this position, Mr. Martin served as Vice President of Supply Chain Excellence. His responsibilities included leading engineering, quality assurance, program management, and LEAN Six Sigma functional teams to support new and existing customers in the Ryder Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) and Ryder Dedicated business segments.

Mr. Martin joined Ryder in 1988 as Operations Supervisor, supporting the Company’s Automotive industry group. Throughout the course of his career at Ryder, Mr. Martin advanced through the organization to positions of increasing responsibility, both domestically and abroad. He served as Operations Director for the Saturn automotive account, Director of the Automotive Sector for Argentina and Brazil, and Director of Hi-Tech operations for Ericsson's global vendor management hubs.

A 25-year Ryder veteran, Mr. Martin has played a pivotal role in implementing and running businesses for Ryder customers in Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Mr. Martin is an active member of the University of Tennessee’s Global Supply Chain Institute Advisory Board.

Mr. Martin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation and Logistics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
