Jim Lawnin

Global Account Partner, Chemicals & Petroleum Industries

Jim recently joined IBM as ExxonMobil Lead Account Partner. He is responsible for all IBM services at ExxonMobil. With over 35 years’ experience in the O&G industry Jim started his career as a petroleum engineer for a major oil and gas company in the Gulf Coast area. Jim left the major to start an independent O&G company and to pursue his MBA and accounting degrees. After graduation, he sold his company and moved to Houston TX where he has held senior executive positions at E&Y, Arthur Andersen, SAIC and Wipro. He has led global industry practices with over 1500 consultants focused on improving operational processes with technology. Jim has held the following designations – Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is active in the entrepreneurial community and board member of the Houston Angel Network and co-leads the oil and gas sub-committee.
