Anadarko elects Constable to board

Constable

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has elected David E. Constable to serve as an independent director of the company. Constable is the former president and CEO of Sasol Ltd. Prior to Sasol, Constable spent nearly 30 years at Fluor Corp., where he served in various leadership positions, including as group president of operations. He currently serves as a director of ABB Ltd., and is a member of The Business Council and the World Economic Forum International Business Council. Constable holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Alberta, and graduated from the International Management Program at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, as well as the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

EnCap Flatrock makes promotions

EnCap Flatrock Midstream has promoted Gregory C. King and Dave Kurtz to managing partner and Dennis J. McCanless to partner. King joined EnCap Flatrock as senior adviser in 2015, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry with a focus on liquids. He is based in EnCap Flatrock's San Antonio office. From 2003 to 2007 he served as the president of Valero Energy Corp. King earned his JD at the University of Houston Law Center and his BBA in finance from the University of Texas. King serves on the board of directors of several EnCap Flatrock portfolio companies including Evolution Midstream LLC; Gravity Midstream LLC; Lucid Energy Group II LLC; and Moda Midstream LLC. Prior to joining EnCap Flatrock in 2014 as managing director, Kurtz served as president and partner of Alpine Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry. Kurtz holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from The University of Kansas and his MBA from Oklahoma City University. Based in Oklahoma City, Kurtz serves on the board of directors of Tall Oak Midstream II LLC. He is also a director at Cardinal Midstream II LLC and Lucid Energy Group II LLC. McCanless joined the firm at its inception and is based in San Antonio, TX. He has more than 27 years of experience in the midstream and energy space. Prior to joining Flatrock Energy Advisors in 2007, he was president and CEO of Gas Solutions Holdings Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and his MBA from the University of Houston. He serves as president and a member of the board of directors of Toledo Bend Midstream LLC. He is also a member of the board of directors of EagleClaw Midstream LLC; Stakeholder Midstream LLC; and Tradition Midstream LLC.

Thakorlal appointed INTECSEA president

Geeta Thakorlal has been named president for INTECSEA, a global offshore engineering consultancy company within the WorleyParsons Group, effective immediately. Thakorlal succeeds Neil Mackintosh, who will take on the role of executive vice president of global sales and marketing for Advisian, the independent management and technical consulting business line of the WorleyParsons Group. Thakorlal has over 30 years of management and professional services experience, the last 25 years of which have been in the international oil and gas sector, predominantly in upstream for greenfield and brownfield offshore and onshore projects. She previously served as global head of INTECSEA's Offshore Select business and senior vice president for the INTECSEA Australia/New Zealand region. Thakorlal earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical and materials engineering from the University of Auckland.

EXCO names acting CFO following Burnett's resignation

EXCO Resources Inc. has made changes to its management team. Chris Peracchi, EXCO's former vice president of finance and investor relations, and treasurer, became vice president and acting CFO, effective August 22, 2016, following the departure of Richard A. Burnett. Burnett, the company's former vice president and CFO resigned to pursue another opportunity. Tyler Farquharson, EXCO's former senior director of finance, was promoted to the position of vice president of strategic planning and assumes the investor relations role within EXCO. Chris Peracchi became EXCO's treasurer and director of finance and investor relations in May 2013 and became its vice president of finance and investor relations in September 2014. He served as the associate director of corporate development and investor relations at Nabors Industries from April 2012 to April 2013 and director of finance and investor relations at Superior Well Services from March 2009 to April 2012. Peracchi has over 11 years of experience in energy investment banking at KeyBanc Capital Markets and AG Edwards & Sons. He is a certified public accountant and received his MBA from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from Babson College.

EV appoints new CEO

EV, a specialist in well diagnosis, has appointed Fraser Louden as its new CEO. Bringing over 28 years of industry experience to the role, Louden has held a number of positions with oil and gas service companies in global management and leadership posts. Louden spent 17 years with Schlumberger, and also served as managing director, and subsequently as CEO, of READ Well Services. He most recently served as managing director at ALS Oil & Gas. EV is backed by UK mid-market private equity house Dunedin.

Sigler joins Baker & McKenzie

Denmon Sigler has joined Baker & McKenzie as a partner, adding more than 17 years of experience advising clients globally on energy-related transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and project development. Sigler joined Baker & McKenzie from Winston & Strawn LLP. Based in Houston, Sigler counsels clients throughout the entire oil and gas value chain. In the upstream sector, she advises on exploration and development of conventional and unconventional, onshore and offshore resources. Sigler will be a member of the North American Banking, Finance and Major Projects and North America Oil & Gas practices. Additionally, Sigler works with midstream clients in acquisitions and divestitures and to develop pipelines and gathering and processing systems. Sigler received her bachelor's degree from Rice University and her JD from South Texas College of Law.

Betaque rejoins Locke Lord

Veteran tax lawyer Andrew Betaque has rejoined Locke Lord as a partner in the Dallas office. With extensive experience working on a wide range of tax matters for both publicly traded and private companies across the globe, Betaque will help expand the firm's global tax department. Betaque was with Locke Lord from 2002-2014, and then was a principal in the transaction tax group at Ernst & Young. Betaque's practice focuses on corporate and partnership taxation of domestic and in-bound, out-bound and other cross border transactions. He has extensive experience with the tax structuring of corporate mergers, acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations and spin-offs, as well as partnership formations, mergers and restructurings.

Orrick Adds Partner with Latin America Focus

Gabriel Salinas has joined Orrick as a partner in the firm's M&A and Private Equity practice and Latin America team. Gabriel joins Orrick from Mayer Brown. Gabriel represents clients in cross-border transactions and projects in the energy and infrastructure sector, with a focus on Latin America. In addition, he advises on oil and gas (upstream, midstream and downstream), conventional and renewable power and other energy-related projects. Gabriel is licensed in the US and Mexico and will be based in the firm's Houston office. He received his LLM from Harvard Law School, his JD, with high honors, from Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey and his bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from Elmhurst College.

Herman joins Blank Rome as partner

Ira L. Herman has joined Blank Rome LLP in New York as a partner in the Finance, Restructuring, and Bankruptcy group. Herman joins from Thompson & Knight LLP. Herman regularly advises lenders and other clients on the management of bankruptcy risk in their transactions; indenture trustees regarding defaulted public debt issues; and lenders regarding restructuring and bankruptcy, including distressed M&A transactions and inter-creditor issues. Additionally, he provides services on the debtors' side, counseling financially distressed entities and their management on restructuring challenges pertaining to corporate governance issues, and litigating corporate governance matters. As a court appointed mediator, Herman has been able to facilitate the resolution of controversies involving US and non-US parties concerning bankruptcy and commercial law issues. In addition, Herman provides counsel to for-profit and not-for-profit entities concerning data privacy and cybersecurity issues. Herman received his JD cum laude with distinction from Boston University School of Law, and his BA in Political Science cum laude from Yeshiva University.

Baker Donelson adds Jarrott to business litigation, energy groups

Colleen Jarrott has joined the litigation and energy groups at Baker Donelson. Jarrott joins Baker Donelson as of counsel in the New Orleans office, where she concentrates on civil litigation and regulatory matters concerning oil and gas law in Louisiana. She serves as counsel to independent and major oil and gas companies, representing her clients in lawsuits, as well as before regulatory bodies including the Louisiana State Mineral and Energy Board, the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Louisiana Public Service Commission. She handles some acquisition work of onshore and offshore assets, and also provides counsel to industry trade associations and oil and gas companies regarding environmental and energy law and policy.

Crestone Peak Resources names CEO

Tony Buchanon has joined Crestone Peak Resources as CEO, effective August 8, 2016. Buchanon has also been named to the company's Board of Directors.

Buchanon has experience in the development of the DJ Basin in Colorado, having most recently served as executive vice president, COO at Bonanza Creek Energy, and previously as production operations manager for Noble Energy Inc. Buchanon brings more than 34 years of industry experience to his new role as CEO. Before focusing on the DJ Basin, he served in a variety of management roles for Rosetta Resources Inc., Trend Exploration Company, Burlington Resources Inc., and Mobil Exploration and Production. Denver, CO-based Crestone is a newly formed entity under the joint partnership between the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and The Broe Group.

Opportune names Lockard managing director, market leader in Dallas

Drew Lockard has joined Opportune LLP as managing director in the firm's energy consulting practice. He will be the Dallas market leader and will continue to support the firm's growth in the area. Lockard has extensive management and consulting experience across a variety of industries in the areas of financial analysis, strategic advisory, program management, information technology and data analytics. Prior to joining Opportune, he was a director in AlixPartners' Information Management Services practice.

Karampelas, Riggi join BDO Consulting

BDO Consulting, a division of BDO USA LLP, has named two new managing directors. Basil Karampelas joined BDO Consulting as managing director of Business Restructuring and Turnaround Services to provide financial, strategic and operational guidance to struggling companies in the energy sector. He has more than 25 years of experience in financial advisory services, including corporate restructuring, capital raising and merger and acquisitions transactions. Prior to joining BDO, Basil was President and Head of Origination at American Process Inc. Basil earned both his bachelor's degree and his MBA from Stanford University. In July, BDO Consulting hired John Riggi to head its Cybersecurity and Financial Crimes Unit. He serves as a managing director in BDO Consulting's Technology Advisory Services practice. He is a former FBI Section Chief for the Cyber Division Outreach Section. He spent nearly 30 years as a highly decorated veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Riggi earned a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Northeastern University.

Gale joins JPMorgan as executive director

Douglas Gale has joined JPMorgan's Corporate Client Banking energy team as an executive director in Dallas with 13 years of energy banking experience. The energy practice provides traditional and investment banking products and services to clients in the US and Canada. Gale focuses on clients operating in the midstream sector of the energy industry. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Gale served as executive director at UBS Securities LLC serving midstream, upstream, and service companies in the energy industry. After earning a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Gale spent two years as a geologist with Tetra Tech EMI in Denver. He earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.

Blackhill Partners taps Bethea as a director

Blackhill Partners has appointed Hardin Bethea as a director. With more than 18 years of experience in investment banking, investment management, and corporate finance, Bethea has extensive experience in the maritime and seaborne trade industry. Prior to joining Blackhill, Bethea founded a strategic and financial advisory firm serving primarily maritime companies and their stakeholders where he advised investment banks and other institutions with regard to maritime, energy and commodities industry projects and investments. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA, and a Master of International Business Studies, cum laude, from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.

Jonathan W. Gottlieb has joined the Energy, Environmental and Commodities Practice Group as a partner in the Washington DC office of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP. With more than 25 years of experience-in federal government, private practice and as corporate counsel for a large international power developer-Gottlieb advises energy and utility clients in the development, construction, financing, acquisition, divestiture and operation of energy generation, transmission, production and processing facilities across the United States and in more than 17 countries.

Parnell joins Parsley as VP, Newcomer resigns board post

Randolph Newcomer, Jr. has resigned his position on the board of directors of Parsley Energy Inc. Newcomer joined the board prior to the company's initial public offering in May 2014. Larry Parnell has joined the company as vice president-engineering. Parnell has over 30 years of exploration and production experience and has served in a variety of engineering, operations, business development, planning, and leadership roles.
