PATTERSON-UTI CO-FOUNDER PASSES

A. Glenn Patterson, one of the original founders of Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. has passed away. He died on June 22 in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 68. Patterson served as the president and COO of the company from 1978 until his retirement in May 2006. During his more than 25-year tenure, he helped grow the company from a one-rig drilling company into one of the largest drilling companies in the world. Mark S. Siegel, chairman of Patterson-UTI, stated, "It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Glenn Patterson. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Patterson family. Glenn was a charismatic leader, company-builder and friend to all who knew him. He was universally respected both within our company and in our industry."

ZION MAKES LEADERSHIP CHANGES

Zion Oil & Gas Inc. has appointed Victor G. Carrillo as the company's new CEO and Glen Perry as the company's new president and COO. Carrillo succeeds John Brown, who was named as CEO in January 2014. Brown, the company's founder, will continue to serve as executive chairman of Zion's board of directors. Carrillo was appointed to Zion's board in September 2010. In October of 2011 he was appointed president and COO. Carrillo currently serves as a director of Magnum Hunter Resources and serves on the board for the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce and the Maguire Energy Institute at Southern Methodist University. Carrillo is a petroleum geologist and geophysicist, attorney, former city councilman, former county judge, and former statewide elected official. From 2003 to 2011, Carrillo served as a commissioner of the Railroad Commission of Texas, having served twice as chairman of the three-member statewide elected board. He holds a law degree from the University of Houston, an MS in geology from Baylor University, and a BS in geology from Hardin-Simmons University. He received an honorary doctorate from Hardin-Simmons. Perry was re-appointed to the board in July 2013. He previously served on Zion's board from January 2004 to December 2009 when he retired as Zion's president and COO. Since obtaining a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, Perry has accumulated over 40 years of experience in engineering and management in the oil and gas industry. From 1993 to 1998, he worked in the Commonwealth of Independent States in project acquisition and management before moving to Israel in 1998. During the last 17 years in Israel, he has consulted for or been employed as an officer by Delek Drilling, Ginko, Zion Oil & Gas, Adira, AGR and Genie Energy. Perry has dual-citizenship in both the US and Israel. He founded GHP Consulting and is currently a consultant to Genie Energy as project manager for the exploration of license #397/Ness and has been an engineering/operations consultant to Zion Oil & Gas.

Greenberg Traurig LLP has added three attorneys in Houston and Dallas: Derek J. Anchondo, who was previously a partner at Adams and Reese, joined as an energy shareholder in Houston; Christina A. Tate, previously a partner at Vinson & Elkins, joined as a corporate shareholder in Dallas; and Hiba Kazim joined the firm's Houston litigation practice as an associate. Anchondo focuses his practice on domestic and international energy transactions involving exploration and production activities, offshore drilling, crude oil and natural gas supply and purchasing, joint operating agreements, equipment and services procurement, engineering, and construction. He is experienced in energy-related mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, financing transactions, joint ventures, and maritime and shipping matters in the energy industry. Anchondo handles a wide range of seaports industry matters, and counsels clients in anti-bribery compliance, regulatory filings, environmental regulatory compliance, and corporate compliance matters. Anchondo received his JD from the University of Houston Law Center and BA from Trinity University. Tate focuses her practice on public and private mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies. She also advises public and private companies in securities offerings and a wide range of other corporate matters. Tate represents clients across several industries, including downstream and midstream energy sectors. She received her JD from SMU Dedman School of Law and her BA from Texas A&M University. Kazim, an associate in Greenberg Traurig's Houston office, advises clients on employment law and general corporate matters, including corporate formation, reorganization, and governance. She received her JD from Cornell Law School and her BS from Texas A&M University.

SEATRONICS NAMES DONALDSON VP

Seatronics Ltd., an Acteon company and part of its survey, monitoring and data business, has promoted Derek Donaldson from vice president Asia Pacific to vice president global operations. Donaldson enters into a new position within the Seatronics Group management structure, reporting directly to the Seatronics Group managing director, Phil Middleton. Donaldson will be based in Singapore and will continue to manage the regional office. Donaldson studied mechanical engineering at Napier University in Edinburgh, UK. After completing a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) pilot training scheme, Donaldson later became an ROV professional. He later served as a vice president at both Sonardyne and Seatronics Pte Ltd.

RISTER TO RETIRE FROM TX RRC

Milton Rister will retire from his executive director position at the Texas Railroad Commission on August 31, 2015. In a statement, Chairman David Porter said a nationwide search for a new executive director begins immediately. Rister joined the RRC from former Gov. Rick Perry's office, where he served as Director for Administration since 2010. Prior to serving in the Governor's Office, Rister worked as Executive Director for the Texas Legislative Council from 2006 to 2009.

JAMES REJOINS BABST CALLAND

Rachel E. James has rejoined Babst Calland as an associate in the firm's Mineral Title Services and Energy & Natural Resources groups. James counsels various energy, oil, gas and mineral-related clients on transaction matters as they relate to gas title issues and opinions. A 2009 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, she worked at EQT Corp. before returning to Babst Calland.

Shiva Rajagopalan, CEO of Seven Lakes Technologies, a developer of enterprise software and solutions for the oil and gas industry, received the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2015 Award in the Business Services category in Greater Los Angeles. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. As a Greater Los Angeles award recipient, Rajagopalan is eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2015 national program.

STALLION NAMES MANNON PRESIDENT, CEO

Stallion Oilfield Holdings Inc. has named David C. Mannon as the company's next president and CEO and member of the board of directors. Mannon joins Stallion with more than 30 years of experience in the oilfield industry. Mannon previously served as CEO and president of Parker Drilling Co., as well as CEO and president of Triton Engineering Services Co. (a subsidiary of Noble Corp.). He also held management positions at SEDCO-FOREX, a global offshore drilling contractor now a part of Transocean. Mannon earned a BS degree in civil engineering from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the University of Houston. He serves on the boards of IronGate Energy Services LLC, an international oilfield rental tool company, and Earl Energy Co., a provider of power equipment for energy, military, and other uses.

RIGNET CFO TO STEP DOWN

Marty Jimmerson plans to step down as CFO of RigNet Inc. by the end of the year. The company, a provider of digital technology solutions to the oil and gas industry, has hired Heidrick & Struggles to lead the search for a new CFO search.

OTTO ENERGY TAPS ALLEN AS MANAGING DIRECTOR, CONTINUING CEO

Otto Energy Ltd. has appointed Matthew Allen as managing director, effective June 24. He will continue as CEO. Allen joined Otto in 2009 as CFO and was appointed CEO in 2014.

TCO APPOINTS MANAGING DIRECTOR

TCO, a provider of well completion technologies to the global oil and gas industry, has named Paul Betteridge a managing director for its UK division. Betteridge has over 35 years' experience within the energy sector. Prior to joining TCO, Betteridge worked for AGR, He joined the company in 2008 and was later promoted to vice president of AGR seabed intervention. Betteridge has held numerous roles for Dril‐Quip, Aker Kvaerner Subsea and Vetco Gray.

SMITH JOINS VOITH TURBO'S POWER, OIL & GAS DIVISION

Elliott Smith has joined Voith Turbo's Power, Oil & Gas Division as vice president of business development and strategy. Smith will be based at the recently-opened office in Houston's energy corridor. Smith brings more than 20 years of experience in the power and energy industries, with technical, commercial, legal, and risk management expertise in project development. Prior to joining Voith, Smith served as the manager for global services at CH2M Hill in Atlanta, Georgia, where he led strategic growth initiatives for global markets in the power and energy industries. He has also previously worked for Siemens Energy. Smith received his MBA at the University of North Carolina and is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and Jacksonville University.
