SAUDI ARAMCO APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT

The Saudi Aramco Supreme Council appointed Amin H. Nasser as president and CEO of Saudi Aramco. The appointment was made during the Council's first meeting in Jeddah under the chairmanship of HRH Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, and Chairman of Saudi Aramco's Supreme Council. Nasser served as senior vice president of upstream at Saudi Aramco since 2008 and has served as acting president and CEO since his predecessor Khalid al-Falih was appointed chairman of Saudi Aramco by Saudi Arabia's King Salman in late April. Nasser is also a member of Saudi Aramco's Board of Directors. He graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering.

MAGNUM HUNTER NAMES EVP, COO

Yankowsky

Magnum Hunter Resources Corp.'s appointment of Keith Yankowsky as executive vice president and COO took effect September 1. Yankowsky brings more than 28 years of engineering experience, including operations, drilling and completions, within large independent oil and natural gas companies. Prior to his appointment at Magnum Hunter, Yankowsky served as vice president of Appalachia South Business Unit at Chesapeake Energy since 2013. During his nine year tenure at Chesapeake, he also held the title of vice president of engineering technology and special projects and was involved in overseeing a variety of engineering and operational functions specifically related to horizontal drilling and fracture stimulation techniques within the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays. Prior to joining Chesapeake, Yankowsky served in various operational and engineering roles at Burlington Resources and Conoco Inc. He earned a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College, Marietta Ohio.

KPMG PROMOTES MAYOR

Mayor

KPMG LLP, the US audit, tax and advisory firm, has named Regina Mayor, a nine year veteran of the firm, as the national sector leader for the energy and natural resources practice, effective September 14. Mayor succeeds John Kunasek, who has been named national managing partner, market development. Mayor previously served as KPMG's energy and natural resources advisory industry leader and the Americas oil and gas leader. She has played an instrumental role in driving growth of the energy practice and has more than 20 years of experience delivering large-scale business and technology changes to major oil companies around the world. Mayor earned a bachelor's degree in Communications and Government from Cornell University and a master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard University. She has served as an adjunct professor at Rice University teaching a class on Energy Strategy for executive MBA students. She was commissioned as an officer in the US Army Reserves and co-leads the KPMG national Veterans Network.

OILDEX PROMOTES WEISS TO CTO

Oildex, a service of Transzap Inc., a cloud-based financial supply chain automation solution in the oil and gas industry, has promoted Michael Weiss to the newly created position of chief technology officer (CTO). Weiss previously served as senior vice president of products and technology at Oildex. His responsibilities will expand to include software engineering, quality assurance, technical operations, development operations, database administration, and product management. Weiss has worked for more than 30 years in the oil and gas, software engineering, and high-tech industries. He has experience in building and managing technology teams both in his previous roles at Halliburton/Landmark and other companies. Weiss has also played key roles in smaller oil and gas technology companies, primarily within the enterprise resource planning and supply chain automation space. Weiss has worked as part of the Oildex team since 2012. He is also involved with the oil and gas industry outside of Oildex as an executive-at-large at PIDX International, an oil and gas industry association. He earned an Associate of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the State University of New York.

GREGORY NAMED CEO AT ROYALE ENERGY

Royale Energy Inc. has named Jonathan Gregory to the position of CEO and vice chairman of the board to spear-head a shift into an acquisition growth strategy for the company. Donald Hosmer retains his position as president of business development, and Stephen Hosmer remains as CFO and president. Gregory joined the board of directors of Royale in June 2014. Prior to being appointed CEO and vice chairman, Gregory was CFO of Americo Energy Resources, a private Houston based oil and gas company. Prior to this position, Gregory was executive vice president at Texas Capital Bank, directing the banks oil and gas lending operations in Houston. Gregory has spent a total of 25 years in the commercial banking sector, having been with Guaranty Bank and Bank One prior to his position at Texas Capital Bank. Gregory will remain in Houston, Texas where Royale will establish an office. Royale Energy has its primary operations in the Sacramento and San Joaquin basins in California.

INTERVALE CAPITAL NAMES NEW PARTNERS

Intervale Capital, an energy-focused private equity firm, has named Patrick Connelly and Jason Turowsky to partners in the firm. Connelly joins Intervale from SCF Partners, an energy private equity group based in Houston where he served as a managing director. During his time at SCF, Connelly joined Forum Energy Technologies, a global manufactured technologies provider, where he oversaw a range of strategic initiatives, to include the company's initial public offering. He earned a bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, after which he served as an active duty infantry officer in the Army for over six years. He completed a dual MBA/MPA degree program from Harvard Business School and the Kennedy School of Government. In addition, the firm has promoted Jason Turowsky to partner. Turowsky joined Intervale in 2013 as vice president, and was promoted to principal in January 2015. Prior to Intervale, he served as principal at Falconhead Capital, a New York-based middle market private equity fund, where he spent 10 years evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments across an array of industries. He began his career at UBS Investment Bank after earning a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

PINE BROOK TAPS MANAGING DIRECTORS

Krenteras

Pine Brook, an investment firm focused on building businesses in the energy and financial services sectors, has promoted Nicholaos Krenteras to managing director and added Bharath Srikrishnan, will also serve as a managing director. Krenteras and Srikrishnan will focus on Pine Brook's financial services investing activities. Krenteras, who has been with Pine Brook since October 2006 and has 20 years of investment experience, represents the firm as a director of Aurigen Capital Ltd., Syndicate Holding Corp., and The Car Finance Company Ltd. Prior to joining Pine Brook, Krenteras worked for LabMorgan, JP Morgan's financial technology venture capital arm, where he was a vice president of portfolio development. He holds an AB in International Relations from Brown University and an MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Srikrishnan, who joins Pine Brook from Five Mile Capital Partners, has 15 years of financial services investment and operating experience. As a managing director at Five Mile, he was responsible for leading the firm's financial services investment activities. He previously served as a principal of Lee Equity Partners, where he focused on making financial services private equity investments. Additionally, he was a co-founder and managing director of NewStar Financial Inc. Srikrishnan started his career as an analyst in the Financial Institutions Group of Salomon Smith Barney and as an associate with Capital Z Financial Services Partners. He graduated from Boston College with a BS degree in Finance, Operations and Strategic Management.

KENDALL JOINS DENBURY AS COO

Denbury Resources Inc. has hired Chris Kendall as COO. He assumes the role from Phil Rykhoek, president and CEO, who had been serving in that capacity on an interim basis. Kendall joins Denbury from Noble Energy Inc., where he most recently served as a member of Noble's executive management and as part of its operations leadership team as senior vice president of global operations services. Prior, Kendall served as vice president, Gulf of Mexico, and as business unit manager and vice president, Noble Energy Mediterranean Ltd., having been with Noble since 2001. He has over 26 years of oil and gas industry experience in domestic and international operations roles and holds a bachelor's degree in engineering, civil specialty, from the Colorado School of Mines.

BLACK STONE MINERALS APPOINTS VP, CAO

Dawn Smajstrla joined Black Stone Minerals LP as vice president and chief accounting officer. Smajstrla most recently served as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer for Lime Rock Resources and Lime Rock Energy. Prior, she held senior accounting positions at Goodrich Petroleum and Anadarko Petroleum. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Houston and is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.

FORMER CHEVRON EXEC JOINS MAANA ADVISORY BOARD

Maana, a search engine built for big-data-fueled applications and platforms, has expanded its team serving the oil and gas industry. Peter Breunig will form and chair Maana's new Oil and Gas Customer Advisory Board. Breunig spent over 30 years at Chevron in upstream technical support, application and research. Other employees with extensive oil and gas expertise who have joined Maana are Erhan Eren and Jeff Dalgliesh. Eren is the company's business development manager, based out of Houston. Eren was at Baker Hughes for eight years, most recently as an enterprise marketing manager. Dalgliesh is a drilling and completions technology enterprise architect and Maana's search enabled solutions leader. He spent 18 years at Chevron, most recently as the leader of the Chevron Global Information Technology Group for Drilling and Completions.

ANADARKO ELECTS NEW BOARD MEMBER, PROMOTES MCMILLIAN

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has elected Dr. Sean Gourley to serve as an independent director of the company, effective Sept. 15, 2015, and promoted Amanda McMillian. Dr. Gourley is the founder and CEO of Primer, an early-stage, venture-backed company building software to power artificial intelligence applications. Prior to founding Primer, he was the founder and chief technology officer of Quid, a San Francisco-based augmented intelligence company building software for strategic decision-making. Dr. Gourley studied at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar where he received a PhD in physics, and he received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in physics from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. He was additionally a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Said Business School at Oxford University and is currently an Equity Partner with Data Collective Venture Capital Fund, investing in key data and algorithmic technologies. Additionally, Anadarko has promoted Amanda M. McMillian, formerly vice president, deputy general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer, to senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer. Anadarko's Robert K. (Bobby) Reeves, formerly executive vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer, will assume the new title of executive vice president, law and chief administrative officer, and will continue to serve as a member of the company's executive committee. McMillian joined the company in 2004. McMillian holds a bachelor's degree from Southwestern University and received both a Master of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from Duke University.

ERIN ENERGY MAKES MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Erin Energy Corp. has made recent changes to executive roles within its management structure. Segun Omidele, senior vice president of exploration and production, has been appointed COO. Omidele has been with Erin Energy since 2011. Omidele has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 28 years with Shell Oil companies in Nigeria, the UK, and the US. Daniel Ogbonna has been appointed senior vice president and CFO. Ogbonna was previously with CAMAC International Corp., where he served as executive vice president and chief strategy officer since 2010 and led CI's business development and merger and acquisition activities. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. Christopher Hearne has resigned as senior vice president and CFO. Chris du Toit has been named vice president of corporate finance and country manager for South Africa. He has been with the company since 2014 and has led corporate finance efforts in Africa following Erin Energy's listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange last year. Du Toit will be responsible for the company's corporate finance efforts in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He has more than 10 years of investment banking experience in M&As, divestitures, capital-raising, and corporate advisory activities in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Erin Energy, he was vice president in Macquarie Capital's resources team and was responsible for oil and gas advisory and equity capital markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. Christopher Heath has been named vice president of corporate finance. Heath has been with the company since 2013 and has served in corporate finance and investor relations roles, and will now be responsible for Erin Energy's corporate finance efforts in North America. He has 10 years of corporate finance experience, including M&A transactions, and seven years of investment banking experience in the oil and gas industry, and has advised on numerous capital markets transactions. Prior to joining Erin Energy, he was assistant vice president of finance at Magnum Hunter Resources.

TUDOR, PICKERING, HOLT NAMES UPSTREAM INVESTMENT BANKING DIRECTOR

Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. has appointed David Beathard, former vice president of business development, strategy, and planning for LINN Energy, as a director in the firm's Upstream Advisory business. Beathard will be based in Houston. Beathard joined Pogo Producing Co. in 1982 after graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering. He served as senior vice president of engineering until November of 2007 when Pogo was sold. Beathard then became managing partner of private equity-backed Arenite Western Energy from 2009-2010 until he joined LINN Energy.

BDO HIRES DICKINSON AS DIRECTOR IN FIRM'S ANCHORAGE OFFICE

BDO USA LLP, an accounting and consulting organization, has hired Dan Dickinson, CPA, as a director in the firm's Anchorage, Alaska, office. Dickinson has over 20 years of experience providing consulting and tax services to a wide range of clients, including exploration and production companies, financial institutions, municipalities, and both current and potential investors in Alaska. He has experience dealing with complex issues including the State of Alaska's constantly evolving exploration, development, and production incentives. His background includes serving in several state and municipal administrations, including time as the director of tax for the State of Alaska. Before joining BDO, Dickinson had his own CPA practice focused on Alaska oil and gas production taxes. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in lunar geology from Brown University.
