Headquartered in Houston, Texas, NiSource Gas Transmission & Storage (NGT&S) companies own and operate more than 15,700 miles of strategically located natural gas pipelines, integrated with one of the largest underground storage systems in North America. From the Gulf Coast to the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the systems connect premium natural gas supplies with some of the nation's strongest energy markets, delivering over 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas per year to customers in more than 16 states.

As units of NiSource Inc., the NGT&S companies include Columbia Gas Transmission, Columbia Gulf Transmission, Crossroads Pipeline, Hardy Storage, Millennium Pipeline and NiSource Midstream Services.

The group of companies has a shared interest in the strength and stability of the communities it serves, and part of that is the role the company takes on in helping to improve the communities and environment where customers and employees live and work. From employee volunteers and philanthropic programs to the environmental integrity and reliability of its services and operations, the NGTS&S group is committed to focusing on collaborative solutions while addressing critical needs and building resources for the future.

In 2010, NGT&S contributed $120,000 to 12 local food banks in communities where it has operations. NiSource companies gave a record level of $6.8 million in charitable contributions to local, regional and national nonprofit and philanthropic organizations across the organization's entire footprint.

One contribution this year was the recent award of a $20,000 grant by NGT&S from the NiSource Charitable Foundation to Camp For All. The grant supports improvements in Camp For All's ropes challenge course program.

"NGT&S is committed to encouraging, recognizing and supporting local organizations across our operational footprint," said Joseph A. Blount, NiSource Energy Ventures president and COO. "We are proud of our role in helping build strong and sustainable communities where our employees and customers live and work."

Camp For All is a unique camping and retreat facility that works in collaboration with 56 other non-profits to provide life changing programs for children and adults with challenging illnesses and special needs. The no barriers facility was built so that children and adults with special needs could experience the thrill of camping and nature just like their able-bodied peers.

Campers of all ages and abilities gain self-confidence and independence while having fun, learning new skills and bonding with others who share their challenges in a safe and understanding environment.

The ropes challenge course is designed to enhance self-confidence and self-esteem and to teach campers to work together as a team.

"This gift from NiSource helps us to provide a challenge course where children with special needs are able to realize what they CAN do, rather than what they can't," said Camp For All president and CEO Pat Sorrells. "The course improvements enabled by these funds improve accessibility and ensure an exciting and universal challenge course, opening up our doors to even more campers."

More than 8,000 total children and adults are served by Camp For All in a variety of camps each year. The organization works with families to help chose which camp best suits a family's specific needs.

Since 1998, more than 70,000 children and adults with cancer, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injuries, cognitive issues, severe burns, brain injuries, cerebral palsy, sickle cell, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, hearing and sight impairments, epilepsy, heart issues, autism, and more have attended the camps in Burton, TX.
